Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Cameroon eVisa at the official eVisa portal before departure. The application requires a digital photo, passport scan, and proof of accommodation. Processing takes 3–5 business days — do not book non-refundable flights until approved.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Luxembourg passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Cameroon. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Yaoundé Nsimalen and Douala airports always ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready — they will not accept verbal promises.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a signed invitation letter from your host in Cameroon. Immigration may ask for it during the interview — having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a recent bank statement showing at least 500,000 XAF (approximately €760) or the equivalent in cash. Officers occasionally ask to see proof you can support yourself during your stay.Recommended
No visa on arrival
Cameroon does not offer visa on arrival for Luxembourg passport holders. You must have an approved eVisa before you travel. Arriving without one means you'll be denied entry.
Yellow fever vaccine required
You need a yellow fever vaccination and the International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card) to enter Cameroon. Get the shot at least 10 days before your trip and keep the card with your passport.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa website (evisacameroon.com). Fill in your personal details, passport info, travel dates, and upload a passport-style photo. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–7 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get the eVisa by email. Print a copy and also save a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival in Cameroon.
3
Arrive at Yaoundé or Douala airport
Most Luxembourg travellers fly into Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport (NSI) or Douala International Airport (DLA). After landing, follow signs to immigration. Have your passport, eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready.
4
Go through immigration
Present your documents to the immigration officer. They may ask about your purpose of visit, length of stay, and where you're staying. Answer clearly. You'll get a stamp in your passport — check the date is correct before leaving the counter.
