Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Luxembourg passport only needs to be valid for the period you plan to stay in Georgia. Georgia does not enforce the 6-month validity rule. Airlines may still check for at least 3 months validity beyond your departure date — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Georgia
Immigration officers at Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. A bus or train ticket to a neighboring country also works.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Officers rarely ask for it, but having a hotel confirmation or a letter from a host speeds things up. If you're staying with friends, get their name and address written down.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
No fixed amount is published, but carrying at least €50 per day in cash or a credit card statement avoids any questions. ATMs are widely available in Tbilisi and Batumi.Recommended
360 days — not a typo
Georgia offers one of the longest visa-free stays in the world for Luxembourg passport holders. You can stay almost a full year without any visa. Just make sure your passport is valid for the entire stay plus 6 months.
Overstaying is costly
If you stay even one day beyond 360 days, you risk a fine and a re-entry ban. Set a reminder to leave a few days early to be safe.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Georgian border
At Tbilisi International Airport or any land border crossing, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and, if asked, your return ticket and accommodation confirmation ready.
2
Present documents to border officer
Hand over your passport. The officer will check its validity, scan it, and may ask a few questions (purpose of visit, where you're staying, how long). Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the entry date and the maximum stay allowed (360 days). No visa sticker is issued. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when leaving.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, collect your bags from baggage claim (if flying) and walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare. You're now in Georgia.
