Your passport must be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Trinidad and Tobago. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by law, but airlines may check for at least 3 months remaining.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Trinidad and Tobago
Immigration officers at Piarco International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
While not always checked, having a hotel reservation or a letter from your host speeds up the immigration process. Keep a copy on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Officers may ask how you'll cover your expenses. Carry a credit card or bank statement showing at least $100 USD per day of your stay.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check this before you board. If your passport expires within 6 months of your entry date, you won't be allowed to fly. Double-check before booking.
No visa, but still need a return ticket
Even though you don't need a visa, immigration always asks for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Piarco International Airport (POS)
You'll land at the main airport in Port of Spain. Follow signs to 'Immigration' — it's a single queue for all non-nationals. Have your passport and return ticket ready.
2
Present documents at immigration counter
Hand over your passport and return ticket. The officer may ask how long you're staying and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with a 90-day entry.
3
Collect luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, go to baggage claim, then walk through customs. There's usually no baggage check unless you're carrying restricted items.
4
Exit the airport
Once through customs, you're free to leave. Taxis and rental car counters are just outside the arrivals hall.
