Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Luxembourg passport needs to be valid for the entire time you're in Kosovo. No minimum validity period beyond your departure date is required by Kosovo law, but airlines may ask for at least 3 months validity at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kosovo
Immigration officers at Pristina International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight booking ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A hotel confirmation or a letter from a host with their address and phone number covers this.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Kosovo does not publish a fixed minimum amount, but officers expect you to show you can cover accommodation, food, and transport. Around €50–100 per day in cash or a credit card statement usually satisfies them.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Kosovo, not from your departure date. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding or entry.
No extension possible
The 90-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. You must leave Kosovo before the 90 days are up. Overstaying can lead to fines and entry bans.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Pristina International Airport (PRN)
Most Luxembourg travellers fly into Pristina. After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. There are separate queues for EU/EEA and other nationals — use the EU/EEA line.
2
Present your passport and supporting documents
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation booking. Have them ready on your phone or printed. They rarely ask for proof of funds, but it's wise to have a bank statement or cash handy.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date. Check the stamp — it should show the date and a 90-day validity. If anything looks off, ask before leaving the counter.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim. Then walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare. Customs checks are rare but possible.
