Montenegro entry requirements for Latvia passport holders
Latvian passport holders can enter Montenegro without a visa for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This policy has been in place since 2024 and remains unchanged. Just show up with your passport and a return ticket.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must be valid for the duration of your stay | Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Montenegro. Border officers at Podgorica and Tivat airports check this carefully. If your passport expires within 90 days of entry, you may be denied boarding. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from Montenegro | Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the border. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. Airlines also check this before boarding in Riga. | Recommended |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Carry a printed or digital hotel reservation for your entire stay. If staying with friends, have their contact details and address written down. Officers rarely ask, but it speeds things up if they do. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support yourself | Have a bank statement or credit card showing you can cover your expenses. There is no fixed minimum amount, but around €50 per day is a safe benchmark. Officers almost never check this for Latvian passport holders. | Recommended |
