Visa on arrival is automatic
No application, no fee, no appointment. Just show up with a valid passport and a return ticket. The whole process takes about 5 minutes at the airport.
Overstay fines are steep
Qatar charges QAR 200 (about €50) per day for overstaying. The fine is cumulative and must be paid before you can leave. Set a calendar reminder to avoid this.

Arrive at Hamad International Airport (DOH)
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Visa on Arrival' counters. These are clearly marked and usually have short queues.

Present your documents
Hand over your passport and return ticket. The officer will verify your passport validity and issue a visa sticker. No payment is required.

Receive your visa sticker
The visa is stamped into your passport on the spot. It's valid for 30 days from the date of issue. You can then proceed to baggage claim and customs.

Standard customs checks apply. No special declarations needed for personal items. You're free to enter Qatar.
