Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Libyan passport holders must apply for a Myanmar eVisa at the official Ministry of Immigration portal. Processing takes 3–5 working days, and the eVisa is valid for 90 days from issue for a single entry of up to 28 days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to present at immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
6 months validity required
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Myanmar. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration at Yangon or Mandalay will deny boarding if it's shorter.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Myanmar airports routinely ask for proof of a return or onward flight within your eVisa's validity period. Have a printed or digital copy of your ticket ready — they may refuse entry without it.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
While not always checked, having a hotel booking confirmation or an invitation letter from a host can speed up the immigration process. Keep a printed copy or have it accessible on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Officials may ask to see evidence of sufficient funds for your stay, such as bank statements or a credit card. Aim for at least $300–$500 USD equivalent to cover expenses without issues.Recommended
E-visa required — no visa on arrival
Libyan passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival at any Myanmar airport. You must apply for an e-visa online before you travel. Processing takes 3–5 working days, so plan ahead.
Keep your arrival card stub
When you enter Myanmar, immigration will give you a small card stub. Keep it with your passport — you'll need to hand it back when you leave the country.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-visa online
Go to the official Myanmar e-visa website (evisa.moip.gov.mm). Fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50 USD) by credit card. You'll receive a confirmation email. Approval usually takes 3–5 working days.
2
Print your e-visa approval letter
Once approved, you'll get a PDF approval letter. Print two copies — one to hand to immigration at the airport, one as a backup. Also save a digital copy on your phone.
3
Arrive at Yangon or Mandalay airport
At immigration, present your passport, printed e-visa letter, and completed arrival card (given on the plane). The officer will stamp you in. Keep the arrival card stub — you'll need it when you leave.
4
Show onward ticket if asked
Immigration officers occasionally ask for proof of onward travel. Have your return or onward flight booking ready — either printed or on your phone.
