What happens at the border

1
Complete the online application
Go to the official GOV.UK visa application portal, select Morocco as your country of residence, and fill out the Standard Visitor visa form. You'll need to upload your supporting documents digitally.
2
Pay the visa fee
Pay £115 online using a debit/credit card. Keep the payment confirmation — you'll need it later.
3
Book and attend biometric appointment
Book an appointment at the UK Visa Application Centre in Rabat or Casablanca. Bring your passport, appointment confirmation, and any original documents requested. You'll give fingerprints and a photo.
4
Wait for a decision
Processing typically takes 3 weeks after your biometric appointment. You'll receive an email when a decision is made. You can track your application online.
5
Receive your visa vignette
If approved, your passport will be returned with a vignette (sticker) showing your visa validity. Check the dates and details immediately — if anything is wrong, contact the VAC.
6
Travel to the UK
At UK border control, present your passport with the vignette. The officer may ask about your visit — answer honestly. Your visa allows entry for up to 6 months, but the officer can grant a shorter stay at their discretion.

Frequently asked questions

Standard processing takes about 3 weeks after your biometric appointment. In busy periods (summer), it can take longer. You can pay for priority processing (5 working days) for an extra fee, currently around £500, if available at the VAC.
Yes, the application form is online. You'll submit it via the GOV.UK website, then attend an in-person biometric appointment at the UK Visa Application Centre in Rabat or Casablanca.
No. Morocco is not eligible for the UK's eVisa system. You must apply through the standard visa application process at the embassy/consulate or VAC.
The Standard Visitor visa allows a maximum stay of 6 months per visit. The visa itself is usually valid for 6 months from the date of issue, but you can request a longer validity (2, 5, or 10 years) if you meet certain criteria — though the 6-month stay limit per visit still applies.
No. The Standard Visitor visa is for tourism, visiting family/friends, or short business activities (like meetings). You cannot take paid or unpaid work, and you cannot study for more than 30 days. For work or study, you need a different visa.
You'll receive a refusal letter explaining the reasons. You can reapply, but you'll need to address the refusal grounds and pay the fee again. There is no appeal for visitor visa refusals, but you can request an administrative review in some cases.
No. The TB test is only required if you're staying in the UK for more than 6 months. For a Standard Visitor visa (up to 6 months), you don't need it.
