Return or onward ticket
Proof of exit from Ukraine
Border officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave Ukraine before your visa expires. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a notarized invitation from a Ukrainian host works. Keep a copy on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can request proof you have enough money for your stay. A bank statement showing at least $50 per day of your trip is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Apply early — no rush service
The e-Visa can take up to 10 working days. There's no expedited option. Don't book flights until you have the visa in hand.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your e-Visa, passport photo, and booking confirmations on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose the printed copy, you can show the digital version.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your e-Visa online
Go to evisa.gov.ua/en/ and fill out the application. You'll need a digital photo, passport scan, and proof of accommodation. Pay the fee online. Processing takes up to 10 working days.
2
Wait for approval
Check your email (including spam) for the visa decision. Once approved, download and print the visa document. Also save a PDF on your phone.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
Before heading to the airport, gather: your passport, printed e-Visa, return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in a single folder.
4
Arrive at the airport in Ukraine
At Kyiv Boryspil or Lviv airport, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport and e-Visa. The officer may ask about your return ticket and where you're staying. Answer clearly and calmly.
5
Receive your entry stamp
Once cleared, the officer stamps your passport with the entry date. Check the stamp — it shows how long you're allowed to stay (usually up to 90 days within 180 days, as per your visa).
