Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from Fiji
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity remaining from the day you leave Fiji. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required
Immigration officers at Nadi Airport always ask for proof of onward travel. Have your printed or digital return ticket ready — they check it before stamping you in.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended
Hotel bookings or a letter of invitation from your host in Fiji can speed up the immigration process. Officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended
Carry at least FJD 500 (around USD 220) in cash or have a credit card statement showing available funds. Immigration may ask how you plan to support yourself during your stay.Recommended
Visa required — apply early
Mongolian passport holders cannot enter Fiji without a pre-approved visa. Start the application process at least 4 weeks before your trip to avoid delays.
Travel insurance strongly recommended
While not mandatory for entry, medical costs in Fiji can be very high. A good travel insurance policy covers hospital stays, evacuation, and trip cancellations.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for a visa
Contact the nearest Fijian embassy or consulate (e.g., in Beijing, Tokyo, or Canberra). Submit the application form, passport, photos, and supporting documents. Pay the fee and wait for approval.
2
Prepare your documents
Gather your passport (6+ months validity), return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Keep copies and digital backups.
3
Arrive at Nadi or Suva airport
At Nadi International Airport (the main entry point), proceed to immigration. Present your passport with the visa sticker and your return ticket. The officer may ask about your stay — answer clearly.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. You may be asked to show your accommodation booking at customs. Then you're free to enter Fiji.
