Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
You need an eVisa to enter South Korea. Apply at the official Korea eVisa portal at least a few weeks before your trip. Processing can take 5–10 business days, so do not book non-refundable flights until approved.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in South Korea. There is no 6-month validity rule for Korea, but your airline may enforce one — check with them before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Korea
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the border. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. A refundable ticket works if your plans are flexible.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation, hostel booking, or a letter from your host in Korea. Immigration may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Have a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough money for your trip. There is no fixed minimum, but around ₩1,000,000 (roughly $750 USD) for a short visit is a safe benchmark.Recommended
No visa on arrival
You must have an approved eVisa before you fly. There is no visa on arrival for Mongolian passport holders at any South Korean airport.
eVisa is single-entry
The eVisa allows one entry. If you leave South Korea (even for a day trip), you'll need a new visa to re-enter.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to visa.go.kr, create an account, fill in the application, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 5–10 business days. You'll receive an approval email with a visa grant notice.
2
Prepare your documents
Print or save on your phone: the eVisa approval, your passport info page, return ticket, and first night hotel booking. Keep them together in a folder.
3
Arrive at Incheon or Gimpo
At immigration, present your passport and the eVisa approval. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel address. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with your allowed stay.
4
Fill out arrival card
On the plane or at the airport, fill in the arrival card with your hotel address and passport details. Keep it with your passport.
