Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Cameroon eVisa at the official portal before departure. Processing takes 3–5 business days — do not book flights until approved. The eVisa is single-entry and valid for up to 90 days.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Cameroon. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers in Yaoundé and Douala routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a signed invitation letter from your host in Cameroon. Immigration may ask for it if you look like you are staying with friends or family.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or a credit card showing at least 500 EUR (or equivalent) for your stay. Officers rarely ask, but it helps if you are flagged for secondary inspection.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show proof of yellow fever vaccination (yellow card) upon arrival. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport — at your own expense.
eVisa only valid for one entry
The eVisa is single-entry. If you leave Cameroon (even for a day trip), you'll need a new eVisa to return.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa website (evisacameroon.com). Fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $80–$100 depending on processing speed). Submit and wait for approval — typically 3–7 business days.
2
Print or save your eVisa
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF. Print a copy and also save it to your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival.
3
Arrive at Yaoundé or Douala airport
Most international flights land at Yaoundé Nsimalen or Douala International. After deplaning, follow signs to 'Immigration'. Join the queue for foreign passports.
4
Present documents at immigration
Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will check your details, take fingerprints (usually index fingers), and stamp your passport. This takes 2–5 minutes.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim. Then proceed through customs (green channel if nothing to declare). You're in Cameroon.
