Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Belarus. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Belarusian law, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Belarus
Border officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at passport control. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight or bus ticket out of Belarus ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration may ask where you're staying. Have a hotel reservation, rental agreement, or a notarized invitation from a Belarusian host ready. If staying with friends, they need to register your stay with the local migration office within 3 days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can request proof you have enough money for your stay. Carry cash or a bank statement showing at least €50 per day of your trip. Credit cards are accepted in Minsk but less so in smaller towns.Recommended
No visa on arrival
Mozambican passport holders cannot get a visa at the border. You must have an approved e-visa before you fly. Airlines check this before boarding.
Registration after 5 days
If you stay longer than 5 days, your accommodation must register you with the migration office. Hotels do this automatically. If you're in a private rental, ask your host or visit the local office yourself.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-visa online
Go to the official Belarus e-visa portal (e-visa.by). Fill in your details, upload a passport photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 3–5 business days. You'll receive the approval by email.
2
Prepare your documents
Print your e-visa approval or save it on your phone. Have your passport, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. Keep a screenshot of your booking on your phone.
3
Arrive at Minsk National Airport (MSQ)
At passport control, hand over your passport and e-visa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport and you're in.
4
Register your stay (if staying more than 5 days)
If you're staying longer than 5 days, your hotel or host must register you with the local migration office. They'll handle it — just give them your passport. If you're in a private apartment, you may need to do it yourself at the nearest office.
