Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply for Guinea eVisa
Apply for your Guinea eVisa online before travel. The official portal is managed by the Guinea Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Processing takes 3–5 business days, and you must print the approval letter to present at immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Passport validity
Your Mozambique passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Guinea. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Conakry International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight booking ready. Without one, you may be refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Guinea immigration may request proof of where you are staying. A hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host works. Keep a printed copy handy.Recommended
Proof of funds
Financial means
You may be asked to show you have enough money for your stay. Carry cash (Euros or USD) or a bank statement showing at least $500. ATMs are unreliable in Guinea.Recommended
No visa on arrival for Mozambican passport holders
You cannot get a visa at the airport or border. You must have an approved eVisa before you travel. Arriving without one means you'll be denied entry and sent back.
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory
Guinea requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers over 9 months old. Get the vaccine at least 10 days before travel and carry your Yellow Card.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Guinea eVisa portal (or the link provided in your checklist). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card.
2
Wait for approval
Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be longer during peak times. You'll receive the approved eVisa by email as a PDF. Print it out and save a copy on your phone.
3
Arrive at Conakry International Airport (CKY)
Most flights land at Conakry. Go to the immigration queue for 'eVisa' or 'Visa on Arrival' (if applicable). Present your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer will stamp you in.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel, then proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
