The IMUGA arrival declaration is required for all visitors. Complete it free at https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv between 96 and 24 hours before your flight. You'll get a QR code that speeds up immigration.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter the Maldives. Airlines will check this at check-in. If you're even a day short, you won't be allowed to board.

Go to https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv and fill in the arrival declaration. Do this between 96 hours and 24 hours before your flight. You'll get a QR code — save it on your phone.

Land at Velana International Airport (MLE)
After deplaning, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Visa on Arrival'. There are separate queues for Maldivian citizens and foreigners. Join the foreigner queue.

Present documents at the counter
Hand over your passport, the IMUGA QR code (on your phone or printed), your return ticket, and your accommodation booking. The officer will check everything and stamp your passport.

Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, head to baggage claim, then customs. The whole process usually takes 15–30 minutes if you have all documents ready.
