Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must have a yellow fever vaccination certificate, the yellow card, to enter Uganda. No exceptions for Dutch passport holders. Get the shot at least 10 days before you travel and carry the card with your passport.

Do not wait until the last minute. Processing can take up to 5 business days, and the portal sometimes has glitches. Apply at least 10 days before your flight to avoid stress.

Apply for the e-visa online
Go to the official Uganda e-visa portal at visas.immigration.go.ug. Fill in the application form, upload your passport photo and passport data page, pay the fee around $50 for a single-entry tourist visa, and submit. Processing usually takes 2-5 business days.

Receive and print your e-visa
Once approved, you will get a PDF via email. Print a copy and save it on your phone. You will need to show it at check-in and on arrival.

Arrive at Entebbe or other border
At Entebbe International Airport, the main entry point, follow signs to 'Visas' or 'Immigration'. Hand over your passport, printed e-visa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 5-10 minutes if the queue is short.

Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel, then proceed through customs. There is usually a quick bag scan. You are free to go.
