Bhutan entry requirements for Norway passport holders
Norwegian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Bhutan. The eVisa is linked to a pre-booked tour package — independent travel is not allowed. You must apply through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator, who handles the visa process for you. This system has been in place since 2023.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |

| Valid passport Must be valid for entire stay | Your Norwegian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Bhutan. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. | Required |

| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or tour confirmation | Bhutan requires all tourists to book through a licensed tour operator or have confirmed hotel reservations. Keep your booking confirmation and tour itinerary handy — border officers may ask to see it. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Daily minimum spend | Bhutan mandates a minimum daily spend of $200–$250 per person (depending on season) for tourists. Carry proof of sufficient funds — a bank statement or credit card showing available credit works. | Recommended |

Transiting through Bhutan
Norway passport holders transiting through Bhutan's only international airport (Paro) do not require a transit visa if staying airside and not passing through immigration. However, due to limited flights, most transits require overnight stays and thus a visa.
- Holders of a valid visa for India, Bangladesh, or Nepal may transit without visa for up to 24 hours.
