Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Cameroon. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Yaoundé and Douala airports routinely ask for proof of a return or onward flight. Have a printed or digital copy of your ticket ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or an invitation letter from your host in Cameroon can speed up the immigration process. Officers may ask where you are staying on arrival.Recommended
Proof of funds

Carry evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — bank statements or a credit card with a reasonable limit. Immigration may ask how you plan to support yourself during your visit.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show your yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow card) at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport at your own expense. Get the shot at least 10 days before travel.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa website (evisacameroon.com). Fill in your personal and travel details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get the eVisa as a PDF by email. Print two copies — one to present at check-in and one for immigration on arrival. Also save a digital copy on your phone.
3
Arrive at Yaoundé or Douala airport
Most international flights land at Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport (NSI) or Douala International Airport (DLA). At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp your passport. The process usually takes 10–15 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's no separate visa-on-arrival queue — eVisa holders use the standard immigration line.
