Apply for your UK visa online
Go to gov.uk/apply-uk-visa and fill out the standard visitor visa application. You'll need to select a visa application centre — in Nepal, that's VFS Global in Kathmandu. Pay the fee (currently £115 for a 6-month visitor visa) and book your biometric appointment.

Attend biometric appointment
Visit the VFS centre in Kathmandu with your passport, appointment confirmation, and any supporting documents. They'll take your photo and fingerprints. Processing usually takes 3–8 weeks, so apply well before your planned travel.

Receive your visa vignette
If approved, a vignette (sticker) will be placed in your passport. Check the dates — it shows when you can enter and how long you can stay. The standard visitor visa allows up to 6 months per visit.

Arrive at a UK airport and go through Border Control
At Heathrow, Gatwick, or any UK airport, follow the 'All Other Passports' queue. Hand over your passport with the visa vignette. The officer may ask about your trip, accommodation, and return plans.
