Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Apply for a visa at the Ukrainian embassy or consulate
Nepalese passport holders need a visa before traveling to Ukraine. Apply at the nearest Ukrainian embassy or consulate — the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website has the full list of required documents and application steps. Processing takes 10–15 working days, so apply at least three weeks before your flight.Check visa requirementsRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the whole period you plan to stay in Ukraine. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Ukrainian law, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before booking.Required
Return or onward ticket
Recommended to show at immigration
Border officers may ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready. Airlines sometimes check this before boarding.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration may request a hotel reservation, rental agreement, or a notarized invitation from a Ukrainian host. Keep a printed copy or have it accessible on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Have bank statements, a credit card, or cash equivalent to at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Officers rarely ask, but having proof avoids delays.Recommended
Apply early — no visa-on-arrival
Nepali passport holders cannot get a visa at the border. You must have an approved e-Visa before you travel. Processing can take up to a week, so don't leave it to the last minute.
Passport validity counts from entry, not departure
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Ukraine, not from when you leave. If it expires sooner, renew it first.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-Visa online
Go to the official Ukraine e-Visa website (evisa.gov.ua). Fill in the application, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 3–5 business days, sometimes longer. Apply at least 2 weeks before your trip.
2
Pack your documents
Print or save digital copies of your approved e-Visa, passport, return ticket, accommodation booking, and insurance. Keep them together in a folder or on your phone.
3
Arrive at the airport in Ukraine
At Kyiv Boryspil or any other international airport, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport and e-Visa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer clearly — they're checking you're a genuine visitor.
4
Get your entry stamp
Once approved, the officer stamps your passport with the entry date and allowed stay. Check the stamp before leaving the counter — make sure the dates are correct.
