Land at Colombo airport
After you get off the plane at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), follow signs to immigration. There are two queues: one for e-Visa holders and one for visa on arrival. Join the visa-on-arrival queue.

Fill out the arrival card
You'll be given a small arrival card on the plane or at the immigration hall. Fill it out with your passport details, flight number, and accommodation address. Keep it with your passport.

Present documents and pay the fee
Hand over your passport, completed arrival card, and return ticket (if asked). Pay the visa-on-arrival fee — typically around $35–$50 USD (cash in USD or Sri Lankan Rupees is safest). The officer will process your visa and stamp your passport.

Collect your luggage and exit
Once stamped, head to baggage claim, collect your bags, and proceed through customs. You're now legally in Sri Lanka.
