Passport validity is critical

Arrive at Ulaanbaatar (or other entry point)
Most travellers fly into Chinggis Khaan International Airport (UBN) in Ulaanbaatar. Land border crossings from Russia or China are also possible but less common. At the airport, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' immigration.

Present your documents to immigration
Hand over your passport and any requested documents. The officer will check your visa-free eligibility, stamp your passport, and grant you up to 90 days. This usually takes 5–10 minutes.

Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. There's usually nothing to declare unless you're carrying large amounts of cash or restricted items.

Exit the airport and start your trip
Once through customs, you're free to enter Mongolia. Taxis and buses are available outside the terminal. Have your accommodation address ready for the driver.
