Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for a Lesotho eVisa at the official Immigration Department portal. The eVisa is mandatory for Pakistani passport holders — there is no visa on arrival. Processing takes 3–5 business days, so apply at least a week before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your Pakistani passport must be valid for at least the entire period you intend to stay in Lesotho. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires before you leave, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Moshoeshoe I International Airport routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to have ready
While not always checked, having a hotel booking or an invitation letter from your host speeds up the immigration process. If you are staying with friends, ask them to write a letter with their contact details.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to have ready
Carry evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least 5,000 ZAR (or equivalent) per person. Immigration may ask if you look under-resourced.Recommended
No visa on arrival
Pakistan passport holders cannot get a visa at the border. You must have an approved eVisa before you fly. Airlines check this before boarding.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Lesotho, not from when you apply for the eVisa. If it's close to expiry, renew it first.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to the official Lesotho eVisa portal. Fill in your personal details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing takes 3–5 business days — don't book flights until you have the approval.
2
Print your eVisa and pack documents
Once approved, you'll get a PDF via email. Print two copies — one for immigration, one as backup. Also print your flight itinerary and accommodation confirmation. Keep them together in a folder.
3
Arrive at Moshoeshoe I International Airport
After landing, head to the immigration hall. Join the queue for foreign passports. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will check your documents, stamp your passport, and wave you through. The whole process usually takes 10–15 minutes.
