The Maldives requires all visitors to complete an IMUGA arrival declaration before arrival. It's free and takes 2 minutes at imuga.immigration.gov.mv. Do it within 96 hours of your flight to avoid delays at the airport.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter the Maldives. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to fly.

Fill out IMUGA online
Go to imuga.immigration.gov.mv and complete the arrival declaration. You can do this up to 96 hours before your flight. Save the QR code or screenshot the confirmation page.

Arrive at Malé International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Visa on Arrival'. Join the queue for foreign passport holders. Have your passport, IMUGA QR code, return ticket, and accommodation booking ready.

Present documents and get stamped
Hand over your passport and the IMUGA QR code. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking. They'll stamp you in — no fee, no fuss. The whole process takes 5–10 minutes.

Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. You're free to enter the Maldives.
