Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
Cameroon requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers over 9 months old. You'll need the International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card) — immigration may ask for it when you land. Get the vaccine at least 10 days before travel.
Currency and cash
Cameroon uses the Central African CFA franc (XAF). Credit cards are accepted in major hotels and some restaurants in Yaoundé and Douala, but cash is king everywhere else. Bring euros or US dollars to exchange — ATMs are unreliable outside big cities.

Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa website (evisacameroon.com). Fill in your personal and travel details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online with a credit or debit card.

Wait for approval
Processing usually takes 3–5 business days. You'll receive the eVisa by email as a PDF. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.

Print or save the eVisa
Print a paper copy and also save the PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival in Cameroon.

Arrive at Yaoundé or Douala airport
Most international flights land at Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport or Douala International Airport. Go to the immigration counter, present your passport, eVisa, and return ticket. They'll stamp you in.
