Apply early — no visa on arrival
Brazil does not offer visa on arrival for Rwandan passport holders. You must apply online and receive approval before you fly. Processing can take up to 3 weeks, so don't leave it to the last minute.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Brazil, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the visa.

Apply for the visa online
Go to the Brazilian consular e-Visa portal (gov.br/mre/en/assuntos/portal-consular/visas/visa-application-e-visa). Fill in the form, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 5–15 business days.

Wait for approval and print the visa
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF visa. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival in Brazil.

Prepare your documents for immigration
At the airport in Brazil (e.g., Guarulhos in São Paulo or Galeão in Rio), join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport, printed visa, return ticket, and first-night accommodation ready. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and where you're staying.

Enter Brazil and enjoy your stay
After the officer stamps your passport, you're in. Your visa allows a single entry for up to 90 days. If you want to stay longer, you'll need to apply for an extension at the Federal Police office in Brazil before your visa expires.
