eVisa is mandatory — no exceptions
Rwandan passport holders cannot enter Lesotho without an approved eVisa. There is no visa on arrival, and border officials will not make exceptions. Apply online at least a week before your trip.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Lesotho, not from your departure date. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.

Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Lesotho eVisa portal (usually evisalesotho.com). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50–$75 depending on processing speed) with a credit or debit card. You'll get a confirmation email immediately.

Wait for approval
Processing takes 3–5 business days for standard applications. Check your email (including spam folder) for the approval letter. If you're in a rush, some portals offer expedited processing for an extra fee.

Print or save the eVisa
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll show this at check-in and at immigration in Maseru.

Arrive at Moshoeshoe I International Airport
After landing, head to the immigration counter. Present your passport, eVisa approval, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer may ask a few questions (purpose of visit, length of stay). Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp — usually valid for up to 30 days.
