Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for an Iraqi eVisa at the official portal before departure. The eVisa is valid for single entry and allows stays up to 30 days. Processing takes 3–5 business days, so apply at least a week before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Singapore passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Iraq. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Baghdad and Erbil airports routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. Without one, you risk being refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or a letter of invitation from your host in Iraq help satisfy immigration. Officers may ask where you're staying — having a printed booking avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry enough cash (USD or IQD) to cover your stay — around $50–$100 per day. Credit cards are not widely accepted outside major hotels. Immigration may ask how you'll support yourself.Recommended
Security situation
Iraq has active conflict zones and a high risk of terrorism, kidnapping, and armed violence. The Singapore government advises against all travel. If you must go, stay in secure areas and register with MFA.
eVisa is mandatory
There is no visa on arrival for Singapore passport holders at any Iraqi port of entry. You must have an approved eVisa before you fly.
