Passport validity is strictly enforced
Mozambique requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding — no exceptions.

Arrive at immigration counter
At Maputo International Airport (MPM) or any land border, head to the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport, boarding pass, and return ticket ready.

Present documents and get stamped
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your passport validity, blank page, and may ask for your return ticket. They'll stamp you in for up to 30 days. No fee, no forms.

Collect luggage and exit
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim (if arriving by air), then customs. The whole process usually takes 10–15 minutes if you have everything ready.
