Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Tunisian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Kazakhstan. Apply at the official eVisa portal at least 5 working days before departure. Processing takes 3–5 business days and the eVisa is valid for single entry up to 30 days.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Kazakhstan. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Kazakh law, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Almaty and Nur-Sultan airports routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended
Carry a hotel booking confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Officers may ask for it if you look uncertain about your plans.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended
Have access to at least $50 USD per day of your stay. A bank statement or credit card is usually sufficient if asked.Recommended
eVisa is electronic — no sticker
Your eVisa is linked to your passport number, not a physical sticker. You won't get anything in your passport. Just keep the PDF confirmation as a backup.
Passport validity counts from entry, not departure
Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Kazakhstan. If it expires sooner, renew it before you apply.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Kazakhstan eVisa portal (evisa.e-gov.kz). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive your eVisa confirmation
You'll get an email with a PDF confirmation. Save it to your phone and print a copy to keep with your passport. The eVisa is electronically linked to your passport number — no need to present the PDF at immigration, but having it handy is smart.
3
Arrive at a Kazakh airport
Most travellers fly into Almaty or Astana (Nursultan Nazarbayev International). At immigration, hand over your passport. The officer will scan it and see your eVisa. They may ask for your return ticket and accommodation — have those ready on your phone.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, grab your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. If you have an eSIM, you'll have data immediately for maps and ride-hailing apps like Yandex Taxi.

The fee varies by nationality and visa type. For Tunisian passport holders, expect around $50–$80 USD. You pay online with a credit or debit card.
No, the eVisa is not extendable. You must leave before it expires. If you need to stay longer, you'd need to apply for a different visa type from a Kazakh embassy before traveling.
Not strictly — it's linked to your passport electronically. But having a printed copy in your bag is a good backup in case your phone dies or the system has a glitch.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. If it's shorter, renew your passport before applying for the eVisa. The eVisa will be rejected otherwise.
Yes, the eVisa is valid for entry at all international border crossings, including land borders. But most Tunisian travellers arrive by air.
Rejections are rare but can happen if your documents are incomplete or your passport doesn't meet the validity requirement. You'll get a reason in the rejection email. You can reapply after fixing the issue — you'll need to pay the fee again.
