Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Taiwan eVisa application
Apply before departure
Tunisian passport holders must apply for a Taiwan eVisa at visawebapp.boca.gov.tw before travel. The application takes about 10 minutes — upload a passport photo and your passport data page. Processing usually takes 2–5 working days, so apply at least a week before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Tunisian passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Taiwan. Taiwan does not enforce the 6-month rule for Tunisian passports — just make sure it doesn't expire while you're there. Airlines may still check validity at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required at check-in
Immigration and airlines will ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket out of Taiwan. This is strictly checked at Tunis airport and upon arrival in Taipei. A flight booking to a third country (like Japan or Thailand) also works.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host in Taiwan ready. Immigration officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you're staying at a private address. A printed booking confirmation from Booking.com or Agoda works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Carry a bank statement showing at least 500 USD equivalent, or have cash in TWD or USD. Taiwan rarely checks this for short stays, but it's better to have it ready if asked. ATMs at Taoyuan Airport dispense TWD directly.Recommended
No visa on arrival — apply early
Tunisian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Taiwan. You must apply online before you travel. Start the process at least 3 weeks before your departure to avoid last-minute stress.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Taiwan. If it's close to expiring, renew it before applying for the visa. Immigration will check this at the border.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
Go to the Taiwan Visa Web App (visawebapp.boca.gov.tw), create an account, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and scanned passport, and pay the visa fee. Processing usually takes 5–10 working days.
2
Prepare your documents for arrival
Print or save to your phone: your approved visa, passport, return ticket, and first night's hotel booking. Keep them together in your carry-on.
3
Go through immigration at Taiwan Taoyuan Airport
At the airport, follow signs to 'Foreigners' or 'All Passports'. Hand over your passport and visa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel address. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport and you're in.
