What happens at the border

Go to https://eta.gov.lk/ and fill out the application. You'll need your passport details, travel dates, and a valid email address. The process takes about 10 minutes.

Pay the ETA fee
Pay the fee online with a credit or debit card. The standard tourist ETA fee is around $35–$40 USD (check the site for current rates). Processing is usually instant, but allow up to 24 hours.

Receive ETA confirmation
You'll get an email with your ETA approval. Print it or save it on your phone — you'll need to show it at check-in and possibly at immigration.

Arrive at the airport in Sri Lanka
At Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo, head to the immigration counters. Have your passport, ETA confirmation, and return ticket ready. The officer will stamp your passport, and you're in.
