Apply for a Schengen visa at the Hungarian embassy
Contact the Hungarian embassy in Dar es Salaam (or the nearest Schengen consulate if Tanzania doesn't have one) to book an appointment. Submit your application, passport, photos, flight itinerary, accommodation proof, travel insurance, and bank statements. Pay the visa fee (€80 for adults, reduced for children). Processing takes about 15 days.

Arrive at Budapest Airport or any Schengen border
When you land at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, join the 'All Passports' queue. Have your passport with visa, return ticket, and accommodation proof ready. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and length of stay. Answer clearly.

Get your passport stamped
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date and allowed stay (up to 90 days in any 180-day period). Check the stamp before leaving the counter — if the dates are wrong, ask for a correction immediately.
