Overstay fines add up fast
If you stay longer than your eVisa allows, you'll be charged $20 USD per day. The maximum fine is $500 USD. Always extend before your visa expires — the Immigration Department in Maseru can process extensions in one visit.

Apply for the eVisa online
Go to https://www.immigration.gov.ls/ and fill out the eVisa application. Upload a clear scan of your passport bio-data page and a passport-sized photo. Pay the $150 USD fee by credit card. You'll receive a confirmation email within 3–5 business days.

Print your eVisa approval letter
Once approved, you'll get a PDF approval letter. Print two copies — one to hand to immigration on arrival, one as backup. Keep it with your passport, not in checked luggage.

Arrive at Moshoeshoe I International Airport or a land border
At the airport, follow signs to 'Immigration' after baggage claim. Hand over your passport, eVisa approval letter, and return ticket. The officer will stamp your passport with the eVisa. The process takes 5–10 minutes if you have all documents ready.

Enter Lesotho and enjoy your stay
You're allowed to stay up to 30 days. If you want to stay longer, visit the Lesotho Immigration Department in Maseru before your 30 days are up to apply for an extension (costs $20 USD per day overstay fine if you exceed the limit).
