Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before departure
Apply for your São Tomé and Príncipe eVisa at the official portal before you fly. Processing takes 2–3 business days, so submit at least a week ahead. Print the approval email and carry it with your passport — immigration will check it on arrival.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your stay
Your Ukrainian passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. São Tomé and Príncipe does not formally require 6 months of validity beyond your stay, but airlines often enforce it — check with your carrier before check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket showing you leave within your eVisa validity. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. Without it, you may be denied boarding.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, a printed booking confirmation avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to around $500–$1,000 for your stay. Officers rarely check it, but it's one less thing to worry about if they do.Recommended
Apply early
The eVisa can take up to a week to process. Don't leave it until the last minute — apply at least 10 days before your flight.
Keep digital copies
Save your eVisa approval, passport scan, and return ticket as PDFs on your phone. Also keep a printed copy in your carry-on in case your phone dies.
