You cannot get a visa on arrival in Uganda. You must apply and receive approval before you travel. No exceptions.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Uganda. If it's close to expiring, renew it first — you will be turned away otherwise.

Apply for the eVisa online
Go to visas.immigration.go.ug, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50 USD for a single-entry tourist visa) with a credit or debit card. You'll receive a confirmation email.

Wait for approval
Processing usually takes 2–5 business days. Check your email (including spam) for the approval letter. Print it or save a copy on your phone.

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport
When you land, head to the immigration hall. Have your passport, eVisa approval, return ticket, and accommodation booking ready. The officer will stamp you in — typically for up to 90 days.

Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel, then walk through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
