Visa must be approved before you fly
Do not book non-refundable flights until your visa is approved. Processing delays happen, and airlines will not let you board without an approved visa.

Uganda is a yellow fever endemic country. If you are flying directly from Uganda or have transited through a risk country, you must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate at immigration.

Apply for your visa online
Go to the Mauritius ePassport portal (epassport.govmu.org) and fill out the visa application. Upload your passport scan, a passport-sized photo, and your flight itinerary. Pay the fee by credit card. Processing usually takes 2–5 business days.

Wait for approval
Check your email (including spam) for the visa approval letter. Once approved, print a copy or save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and upon arrival.

Pack your documents
Before you leave, gather: your passport, visa approval, return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in your carry-on, not checked luggage.

Arrive at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU)
After landing, follow signs to immigration. Join the queue for foreign passport holders. Have your passport, visa approval, and return ticket ready. The officer will stamp you in — usually for up to 30 days.
