Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for your Pakistan eVisa at visa.nadra.gov.pk at least 7–10 working days before departure. The eVisa costs $8 USD for a single-entry tourist visa and is processed within 3–5 working days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad will check it before stamping you in.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Ugandan passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Pakistan. Airlines at Entebbe will check this before boarding — if your passport expires before you leave Pakistan, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Pakistan
Immigration officers at Pakistani airports routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — if you cannot show one, they may deny entry or put you on the next flight out.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Pakistan. Border officers at major airports occasionally ask where you are staying, and having a booking ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Have a bank statement or cash equivalent to at least $200 USD for a short visit. Immigration may ask how you plan to fund your trip — showing a recent statement or a credit card usually satisfies them.Recommended
Passport Validity is Strict
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to fly.
eVisa is the Only Option
Ugandan passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival for Pakistan. You must have an approved eVisa before you travel. No exceptions.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa Online
Go to visa.nadra.gov.pk. Fill in your personal details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 working days.
2
Receive and Print Your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa PDF. Print at least one copy and save it on your phone. The visa is linked to your passport number, so you don't need to carry the original document.
3
Prepare Your Documents for Arrival
Before you land, have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and hotel booking confirmation easily accessible. Keep them in your hand luggage, not checked bags.
4
Go Through Immigration at the Airport
At any international airport in Pakistan (Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore), join the 'Foreigners' queue. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask about your purpose of visit, where you're staying, and when you're leaving. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport and you're in.
