Rwanda entry requirements for Uganda passport holders
Ugandan passport holders can enter Rwanda without a visa for up to 180 days per visit. This visa-free arrangement has been in place since 2024 and makes travel between the two countries straightforward. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your arrival date.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must be valid for duration of stay | Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Rwanda. Airlines at Entebbe will check this before boarding — they won't let you fly if your passport expires before your departure date. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from Rwanda | Immigration officers at Kigali International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they'll check the date matches your intended stay. | Recommended |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Rwanda. Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Sufficient money for your stay | Have access to at least $200 USD in cash or a card with available credit. Immigration officers occasionally ask to see proof you can cover your expenses while in Rwanda. | Recommended |
