Apply early — no visas on arrival
There are no visas on arrival for US passport holders. You must have an approved eVisa before you board your flight to Azerbaijan. Apply at least a week before departure.

Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.gov.az, fill in your passport details, upload a photo, and pay the fee (around $20–$25 USD). Processing takes about 3 business days. You'll receive the visa by email.

Once approved, download the PDF. Print a paper copy and also save it on your phone. You'll show it at check-in and on arrival.

Arrive at Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD)
After landing in Baku, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports'. Join the queue for non-Azerbaijani citizens. Have your passport, eVisa, and return ticket ready. The officer may ask your hotel address — have it handy.

Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry. The eVisa is valid for up to 30 days. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.
