Financial means
While not explicitly required by Cameroon regulations for Uruguayan passport holders, carrying proof of sufficient funds (e.g., bank statement, cash, or credit card) is advisable to demonstrate you can support your stay.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccinationWithout the certificate, you may be denied entry or quarantined.
International certificate required
All travelers arriving from or transiting through a country with yellow fever risk must present a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. Uruguay is not a yellow fever endemic country, but the requirement applies if you have recently visited an endemic area.Required
Arrival declarationNo separate arrival declaration is needed beyond standard immigration forms.
Not required
Cameroon does not require an arrival declaration form for Uruguayan passport holders. Not required
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
Cameroon strictly enforces the yellow fever vaccination requirement. You must carry your International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card) and be prepared to show it on arrival. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport.
Local currency and cash
Cameroon uses the Central African CFA franc (XAF). Credit cards are accepted in major hotels and some restaurants in Yaoundé and Douala, but cash is king everywhere else. Bring enough CFA or USD/EUR to exchange at the airport.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa portal (evisacameroon.com). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $80–$120 depending on processing speed). Submit and wait for approval — usually 2–5 business days.
2
Print or save your eVisa
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF. Print a paper copy and also save it to your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
At the airport in Uruguay, the airline will check your passport validity, eVisa, and onward ticket. Have them ready in a folder.
4
Arrive at Yaoundé or Douala airport
Most flights land at Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport (NSI) or Douala International Airport (DLA). Follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Visa on Arrival' — but since you have an eVisa, go to the 'Foreign Passports' queue.
5
Present your documents to immigration
Hand over your passport, eVisa printout, and boarding pass. The officer will stamp your passport. You may be asked for your return ticket or accommodation — have them ready. The process usually takes 2–5 minutes.
