What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
You'll land at Punta Cana (PUJ), Santo Domingo (SDQ), or Puerto Plata (POP). Follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Migración'.
2
Present your passport and ticket
Hand over your passport and return ticket. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and length of stay. Answer briefly and honestly.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the entry date and allowed stay (usually 30 days). Keep the stamped slip they give you — you'll need it when leaving.
4
Collect luggage and proceed
After immigration, grab your bags from the carousel, then head through customs. Green means nothing to declare, red means a random check.
