What happens at the border

1
Arrival at Spanish airport
After landing at Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, or any other Spanish airport, follow signs to 'Passport Control' or 'EU/EEA/Switzerland' lanes. As a Uruguayan, you'll use the non-EU lane.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport and any supporting documents (return ticket, accommodation booking) if asked. The officer will check your passport validity and may ask about your travel plans.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date. This stamp records your 90-day allowance. Keep it safe — you'll need it to prove you haven't overstayed.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There are no additional visa-related steps.
