Uzbek passport holders can get a visa on arrival at all international airports and most land border crossings in Laos. The process is straightforward — just show up with your documents and pay the fee in cash. This has been the standard procedure since 2024.

Cash only — no cards
The visa-on-arrival counter does not accept credit or debit cards. Bring US dollars or Thai baht in small bills. ATMs are available after immigration, but you'll need cash before that point.

Arrive at immigration counter
After landing at Wattay International Airport (Vientiane) or Luang Prabang Airport, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' before the main immigration queue. At land borders, look for the visa-on-arrival window before passport control.

Fill out the application form
Pick up a visa application form at the counter. Fill it out in capital letters — name, passport number, flight number, hotel address. Keep it simple.

Submit documents and pay fee
Hand over your passport, completed form, two photos, and the fee in cash (USD or THB). The officer will process your visa — usually takes 5–15 minutes.

Receive visa and proceed to passport control
Once the visa sticker is in your passport, walk to the main immigration queue. Present your passport for entry stamping. Keep your boarding pass handy — they may ask for it.

The busiest and most reliable are the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridges (Nong Khai–Vientiane, Mukdahan–Savannakhet) and the border at Huay Xai (from Chiang Rai, Thailand). Avoid smaller, less-used crossings unless you've confirmed in advance.
