No. The ETA is linked electronically to your passport number. You don't need to print anything. Just make sure the passport you used for the application is the one you travel with.
Most applications are approved instantly or within a few hours. In rare cases it can take up to 24 hours. Apply at least a few days before your flight to be safe.
No. The ETA allows stays of up to 3 months per visit. Extensions are not possible. If you need to stay longer, you must apply for a different visa before your current one expires.
Refusals are uncommon for Belgian citizens but can happen if you have a criminal record or previous visa issues. You'll receive a letter explaining why. You can then apply for a Visitor visa (subclass 600) which is more detailed and takes longer to process.
No. The ETA is for tourism and short business visits only (meetings, conferences). You cannot work for an Australian employer. For work, you need a different visa like the Working Holiday visa (subclass 417) or a sponsored work visa.
If you're staying airside and not clearing immigration, you generally don't need a visa. But if you need to change airports or leave the transit area, you'll need an ETA or a Transit visa (subclass 771). Check with your airline.
