Your 90-day visa-free stay is for the entire Schengen Area, not just the Czech Republic. If you've already spent time in other Schengen countries (e.g., Spain, Italy) in the last 180 days, that time counts toward your limit. Use the Schengen calculator to track your days.
Entry stamp is critical
Always check that the immigration officer stamps your passport on entry. Without a stamp, you may have trouble proving you entered legally. If they forget, politely ask for one.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before you fly
Check your passport validity (6+ months beyond entry date). Book your return/onward ticket and first night accommodation. Print or screenshot confirmations. Get travel insurance and a local SIM/eSIM.
2
Arrive at Prague Václav Havel Airport (or other entry point)
Follow signs to 'Non-EU Passports' queue. Have your passport, boarding pass, and any supporting documents ready. The officer will check your passport, stamp it, and may ask about your trip duration and accommodation.
3
Receive your entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry. This stamp starts your 90-day Schengen clock. Count 90 days from this date — overstaying can lead to fines or a ban.
4
Keep your documents handy during your stay
You don't need to carry your passport at all times, but keep a copy (photo or print) of your passport, visa (if any), and travel insurance. Police can ask for ID.
