Keep your passport stamp visible

What happens at the border

1
Arrival at German airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' (non-EU queue). Have your passport ready. The officer will check your passport, may ask about your trip purpose, accommodation, and return ticket. Answer briefly and honestly.
2
Passport stamping
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date and allowed stay duration (usually 90 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter.
3
Baggage claim and customs
After passport control, collect your luggage. If you have nothing to declare, use the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel. If carrying goods over €430 (€300 if arriving by air from outside EU), use the red channel.
