Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Georgia does not require 6 months of passport validity beyond your stay — your passport just needs to be valid for the entire time you're in the country. Airlines sometimes enforce the 6-month rule anyway, so check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Georgia
Immigration officers at Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. A bus or train ticket to a neighboring country also works.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from a host with their contact details ready to show.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Georgia does not publish a minimum cash requirement, but officers can ask for proof of sufficient funds. Carry a credit card and have a bank statement or cash equivalent to roughly 50 GEL per day handy.Recommended
360-day stay — but don't overstay
You can stay up to 360 days per year, but overstaying even one day can result in fines and future entry bans. Keep track of your entry date.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Georgia. If it expires sooner, you will be denied entry. Renew your passport before traveling.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Georgian border control
At Tbilisi International Airport or any land border, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport ready. The officer will scan it, check your face against the photo, and stamp you in. No forms to fill.
2
Present your passport and answer questions
The officer may ask your purpose of visit, how long you're staying, and where you're staying. Answer briefly and honestly. If asked, show your return ticket or accommodation booking.
3
Receive entry stamp and proceed
You'll get an entry stamp with the date. That's it. You're allowed to stay up to 360 days. No registration or additional paperwork needed.
