What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date). Book a return/onward ticket and save the confirmation. Book your first night accommodation and save the address. Optionally, arrange travel insurance and a local eSIM.
2
Arrive at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) or Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH)
You'll go through immigration control. Join the 'Foreigners' queue. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation details — have them accessible on your phone.
3
Receive entry stamp
The immigration officer will stamp your passport with a visa-free entry valid for up to 90 days. Check the stamp before leaving the counter to confirm the allowed stay period.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's nothing special to declare for most travellers. You're free to enter Taiwan.
