The UK Visa Application Centre in Addis Ababa is at Bole Road, near the airport. You must attend in person — no exceptions. Book your appointment as soon as you submit your online application.

Apply for your UK visa online
Go to gov.uk/apply-uk-visa, fill out the Standard Visitor visa application, pay the fee (currently around £100 for 6 months), and book a biometric appointment.

Attend biometric appointment
Visit the UK Visa Application Centre in Addis Ababa (or your nearest city) with your passport, appointment confirmation, and supporting documents. They'll take your photo and fingerprints.

Wait for visa decision
Processing usually takes 3–6 weeks. You can track your application online. Once approved, the visa vignette is stuck into your passport.

Travel to the UK
At UK border control (e.g., Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester), present your passport with the visa vignette. The officer may ask about your trip, accommodation, and return ticket. Answer honestly.

Collect your Biometric Residence Permit (if applicable)
If your visa is for longer than 6 months, you'll get a BRP card. Collect it from the post office listed in your decision letter within 10 days of arrival.
